The collection belongs to a rich art collector called Omar Benjelloun, an entrepreneur who devoted his entire life to art, collecting and reforming many works, for example the Ben Youssef Medersa, and the Mehnbi Palace which decided to put all the works he owned.
The Mehnbi Palace dates back to the nineteenth century and extends over 1200 square meters. Its structure is typical of Arab palaces with a large open courtyard in the middle of the house. The columns, arches, fountains in the courtyard offers an incredible spectacle, thanks to the attention to detail and the beautiful mosaics still perfectly preserved.
The Marrakech Museum is located next to the Ben Youssef Madrasa, a renovated old Koranic school, which has a special authentic charm. Located in the center of the city and easy to reach. Do not miss a visit to the Mosque and Madrasa Ben-Youssef. The entrance to the museum costs $5 and is open daily from 9:00 to 18:30. You can enter both the Marrakech Museum and the Madrasa with one ticket.
